Quadrotor Biplane Tail-sitter


Mini QBiT is a high performance, mechanically simple, vertical take-off and landing RC aircraft. Unlike a standard quadcopter, biplane wings give the vehicle additional lift in forward flight, allowing for improved range, endurance and maneuverability. With its elegant yet highly capable design, Mini QBiT offers the best tail-sitter platform of anything available.

Mini QBiT does not require additional control surfaces like ailerons or elevators to maneuver. Instead, attitude control and transition from hover to forward flight is accomplished with differential rotor thrust. In other words, the only moving parts are the 4 motors, making for an extremely reliable and low cost VTOL aircraft.


No tools, no hassle.

Magnetic mounts allow for rapid assembly and disassembly. Easily swap wings out to fit your flying style within seconds. Pop off the nosecone to have full access to electronics and pop it back on to reduce forward flight drag and prevent damage to sensitive electronics.

Visual Line of Sight (VLOS)

Although small, Mini QBiT can be flown line of sight, either in angle or acro mode, with little to no RC flying experience required.


First-Person View (FPV)

Two cameras provide first person view for low speed and high speed forward flight. This makes for a unique and exciting flying experience unlike anything else.


Designed to crash.

Carbon fiber polycarbonate structure allows for shock absorption in crashes. Aerospace grade carbon fiber wings are both light-weight and stiff to prevent wing damage. The nose cone protects sensitive electronics and wings automatically detach in the event of high g-loading to prevent wing and frame damage.


Low drag, high speed.

From the nose cone to the wings, Mini QBiT is designed for low drag, high speed, efficient forward flight. Winglets reduce wingtip vortices while providing directional stability and serve as landing gear. Extensive research utilizing wind tunnel studies, computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and experimental flight testing iteratively informed the final design to its most efficient form yet.


Maximized forward flight stability.

All four motor mounts have a cant angle of 5 degrees, significantly improving roll control authority in forward flight compared to a standard quadcopter. Winglets provide passive directional stability by acting as vertical stabilizers at high forward flight speeds, allowing the vehicle to track in a smooth and predictable trajectory.
